Performance Evaluation of Hot Pepper (<i>Capsicum annum</i> L.) Varieties for Green Pod Yield and Yield Related Traits Under Irrigated Condition in Guder West Showa Zone, Ethiopia

Capsicum (Capsicum spp.) also known as pepper, is a major vegetable and spice crop grown all over the world for fresh, dried, processed goods. Pepper most important in Ethiopia. This study was conducted to evaluate performance of released hot pepper varieties recommend best adaptable high-yielding variety/ies Western Shoa zone. Four different (Mareko fana, Melka shote, awaze, zala) were tested randomized complete block design with three replication at Guder 2015/16 under irrigated conditions. The results from analysis variance revealed presence significant differences among marketable yield total yield. Variety awaze had highest 13.67 t/ha & 13.87 t/ha, respectively. variety followed by shote (13.53 t/ ha). In contrast, Mareko fana recorded lowest (7.23 ha), zala (7.5 t/ha). research suggested promoting both widespread cultivation comparable agroecological conditions would help increase productivity pepper. Farmers could use dry pod purposes which an attractive color.
